Yes very frustrating day for me spotting wise. Like many stories … it started so well. It’s not often that we see a class 47 loco on the Brighton Main Line now. We used to get the old Interregional services from Brighton to Manchester that would be 47s with rakes of mkII coaches (Ahh the memories of my girlfriend (now wife) and I jumping one to Crewe then a train to the lakes for a long weekend) and the same on the return). Yesterday we had 47815 on a light engine move OU87 Wembley Ny No 1 Road to Three Bridges pass at 11:29 and once there it then formed the drag of a cl442 to Eastleigh.
At 12:34 9Z92 Bow Depot Gbrf to Tonbridge West Yard Gbrf passed with 66765 headed south. It was after this that it got frustrating. We were called in to a meeting and I managed to hear
the Acton to Crawley at 13:24, the Three Bridges Signal T288 to Eastleigh Arlington (Zg) (returning cl.47) and the Newhaven Day Aggregates to Acton T.C. which was a 66 I needed !!!!!!!
